The beer at Steelhead often covers the whole range of
styles. A few of the recipes are standard company recipes, but the brewers
are also allowed to brew some of their own styles and also apply their own
personality to the beers.
Beers currently include:
Beachfront Blonde
- A cream ale style. Light, made with corn, very easy to drink.
Hefeweizen - An
American style wheat (I reserve hefeweizen for German styles only). Light
and refreshing. Served unfiltered.
Bombay Bomber IPA
- An interesting IPA with Chinooks and Mt. Hoods. It's not a typical hop
combination, but it works pretty well.
Amber - A very
well balanced amber. I think many ambers are too malty or fruity, but this
one is nicely balanced. Malty caramel malt flavors come through
strongly.
Anniversary Trippel
- A very light in color trippel. It is very smooth, but at 9.9%, this one
will sneak up on you. It is completely deceiving.
Sullivan Stout
- Rich, roasty, lots of body. Nice stout.
Here
is a picture of the beer board (didn't turn out too well), on the opposite wall
of the bar.
