James Renfrew is the brewer/owner of Potrero Brewing Company.  James started homebrewing well before he was old enough to buy beer.  He landed a job brewing for Steelhead in Burlingame, California.

He then went to the Seibel brewing school in Chicago and completed the long course.  Then he opened Potrero Brewing Company and continues to brew great beer.

James has recently cut his hair, so he no longer looks like such a hippie.

James recently won a gold medal at the California State Fair 2000 for his American Style Wheat.  He also won ribbons for the Brown Ale and IPA.  He also won 3rd place in the Toronado Barley Wine Festival 2000.

Mike Pawlicki is the assistant brewer.  Mike started off homebrewing at the age of 20.  Then he bartended at 20 Tank for about a year.  He got the opportunity to brew a few times on the 14 barrel JVNW system with two of the great 20 Tank brewers.

Then he got a job at Gordon Biersch in San Francisco where he brewed for about 9 months.  He gained valuable lager brewing experience at Gordon Biersch.

Tired of brewing ordinary beer, he left and landed a part time job brewing with James.  He enjoys brewing lagers that beat the pants off of Gordon Biersch.

Coby is the most recent addition to the brewing staff.  Coby is the Potrero mascot.  He (was) a 12 week old golden retriever puppy and is the center of attention around the brewery.  Here is Coby discovering balloons for the first time.  I think the balloons got the better of him though when the popped.
