Beers at Potrero encompass the entire range of ales, and even a lager from time to time.  The beers tend to be well balanced, but many specialty brews can be very bitter and hoppy (as per West Coast style).

Some beers:

Blonde Ale - American style light (cream ale).  Brewed with flaked corn to lighten the body.

Bohemian Pilsener - An excellent, bitter Czech style pilsener.  It's a little more bitter than most are used to from a pilsener.  It has a nice subtle bitterness that comes from the first wort hopping.

Wheat - Gold medal winner at the California State Fair 2000.  Cloudy and served with lemon.  Refreshing and effervescent.

Hometown Pale - aka Schenklebrau.  Great example of a California pale ale.  Very clean, dry taste, moderate bitterness, and a nice Cascade aroma.  As Chris Schenkle used to say, "Pull for the hometown winner".

IPA -   This is Potrero's standard IPA.  It has a nice dry finish which accents the hop profile.  To all the Winter Wunder fans, it was the holiday beer, so it was just a special brew.  Maybe it will come back under a new name.

Brown - Modeled after 20 Tank's Bowser's Brown Ale.  It is not a typical brown ale, as it is brewed without brown malt.  Instead, biscuit malt is used to provide a wonderful, biscutty flavor.

Oatmeal Stout - A bit on the light side, this oatmeal stout is an excellent session beer.  It's very smooth due to the 15% oatmeal in the grist, and dry, lending to the enjoyment of this great beer style.

Other Beers:

Coby's Golden Ale - Named after brewer James's bouncing baby golden retriever puppy.  Coby has been assisting with the brewing operations lately.  The beer is a light, mildly hopped, slightly fruity ale.

Amber - Very British tasting amber.  Fruity nose and malty body.

Equinox - An amber beer with the bitterness of a pale.  Very well balanced with a nice malt character.

Irish Stout - Classic dry Irish Stout style.  Served on the nitrogen faucets.  Beautiful roasted aroma and taste.

"I Do" IPA - brewed as a wedding gift for the head brewer.  It is extremely bitter and hoppy.  So much so that it will make your eyes tear up a bit.  It is 7.9%, but extremely smooth.
