Opened in late 1997, Magnolia quickly gained a reputation as one of the best brewpubs in the city.

My first trip to the brewery was in late '98.  My first beer was the Prescription Pale.  I was very excited to find out that 20 Tank wasn't the only place to get a big, hoppy, bitter beer.  I loved it from the start.

Magnolia keeps an incredible 8 to 12 house beers on tap, up to 5 cask beers, and 3 sodas on tap at all times.  This is by far the most house beers that any brewery in San Francisco has.

The overall feel of the pub is very welcoming.  The staff is very friendly and usually greets you as you come in the door.  The artwork on the walls and the mural above the bar are all amazing.

Most (if not all) of the art is done by Jon Weiss.  Notice the keg in the middle of the sun in the picture on the left.  It is the same keg as the one in the beer board.

It's my favorite pub in the city, and luckily it's close to home for me.  I visit at least 4 or 5 times a week.

Pints are $4.00 normally, but these pints are imperial pints - 20oz.  They also have $2.50 Tuesdays and $2.50 happy hours from 4-7 and 10-11 daily.  The pub has last call at midnight Sunday through Thursday, an 1am on Friday and Saturday.
