The
bar at GB in San Francisco is the first thing you see when you walk in the front
door. It is a very large almost horse shoe shaped bar. It is larger
than many of the GB bars.
The bartenders oil up the rail and slide beers down to
waiting customers. The chrome tap towers are made by Celli
in Italy and are completely flooded on the inside with ice water. This
provides the 'sweating' effect the tap towers always have, and ensures a cold
pour all the time.
The faucets themselves are different from most in that they
have a flow regulator on them. Since the beer has to travel to both the
main bar downstairs and the service bar upstairs, the pressure is a little too
high downstairs. The bartenders can use the flow control valves to ease
the pressure on the downstairs taps.
GB in San Francisco features an outdoor patio with
heaters. It offers great views of the Bay Bridge and the Bay (you can see
the Bay Bridge lights in the background). It has about 10 tables with
table service.
