I was actually very impressed with the brewery at
E&O. It is located in the basement, so there is a lot of room for all
the equipment. I've been in too many cramped breweries and it sucks.
The
brewery is a 10 barrel JVNW
system. The brewhouse has a mash tun/hot liquor tank and kettle which are
all steam heated. Here's an action shot of Frank stirring the mash on a
Bock.
There
are 5 fermenters, all single brew size.
There
are 5 serving tanks in the cold room. All the beer is dispensed to the
upstairs bar using CO2 pumps.
Most beers are filtered with a plate and frame filter.
There is a small lab where testing can be done. Sodas are also made for
the bar.
