The bar at 20 Tank was a huge part of the draw (for me at least).  The entire place was awesome - really laid back and a fun place to simply hang out and drink beer.  It was always about the beer first, food second, so the restaurant portion of the pub wasn't the main attraction, the bar was.

The bar itself was a beautiful old oak bar, stained dark brown.  It had one set of 4 brass tap towers right in the middle of it.  We had to polish the brass tap towers and polish the bar every morning when bartending.

The beer signs hung behind the bar to show the selection of beers available that day.  Bartender Mark DeSalvo painted many of those signs.

The front doors were often propped open to let the fresh San Francisco air into the pub.  An old keg was used as an ash tray outside.

The wood and steel in the pub made it a bit rustic, but down to earth.  You never felt like you were in some kind of fancy restaurant or anything.  It had a great feeling that matched the neighborhood.

The art on the walls was awesome too.  The prints of the pin-up girls were the favorites of most.
